Statement:
“Undisciplinary”, that is without any fixed discipline and undisciplined, Helene Doyon and Jean-Pierre Demers have operated as DOYON/DEMERS since 1987. While making room for the construction of social identities and for intrusions into pre-existing life frameworks, the pair has been responsible for numerous actions, manœuvres and events situated, generally, for the most part, outside the protected spaces of art. Their research focuses on the relationship between art and daily praxis, within the participating context of cultural democracy and with respect to the concepts of connectedness/disconnectedness, anthropological augmented reality and heterotopia.
